GamCare Welcomes New Trustees to Its Governing Body

GamCare, a British charitable organization, has declared the selection of Lester Posner and Jas Bindal to its governing body.

Posner, presently the Director of Communications at the UK Health and Safety Executive, possesses more than 25 years of expertise in the communications sector. He commenced his career as a reporter and after joining the Government Communications Service, he guided teams across Whitehall departments and autonomous entities, providing counsel to ministers, executive groups, and boards.

Bindal, a certified accountant and regulatory advisor, has dedicated the majority of her career to the corporate and investment banking industries, concentrating on the evolving regulatory environment. Prior to joining GamCare, she has collaborated with other charitable organizations and entities in the gambling harm domain, as well as with mental health service providers as a service user advocate.

“I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to Lester and Jas as trustees to the board,” stated Margaret Daly, Chair of the GamCare Board. “They both contribute a vast reservoir of experience from their respective areas of specialization, and I am assured that they will be pivotal figures in assisting us to continue elevating the visibility of gambling support in the United Kingdom. I anticipate collaborating with them both.”

GamCare, a prominent organization dedicated to assisting those struggling with gambling addiction, has revealed two new appointments. This follows their February publication of suggestions for tackling gambling-related financial burdens, advocating for enhanced cooperation among various sectors to minimize the negative impacts of gambling.

This announcement arrives after the second installment in a series of workshops on Gambling-Related Financial Harms (GRFH), conducted by GamCare in November. These workshops concentrated on examining gambling debt and how diverse sectors can more effectively support individuals grappling with it.

The gathering brought together more than 60 participants, including specialists from the University of Bristol and Lloyds Banking Group, as well as professionals from debt counseling agencies such as Citizens Advice, PayPlan and StepChange, and individuals with firsthand experience of gambling-related financial hardship.
