The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has requested that internet service providers (ISPs) in the nation block access to nine additional gambling websites.
The organization determined that Winning Days, 21Bit Casino, Oshi Casino, Lucky Elf Casino, NeoSpin, Lets Lucky, Boho Casino, Ripper Casino, and BC.Game violated the Interactive Gambling Act of 2001 and consequently requested the blocking of these sites.
Since November 2019, when the ACMA initially made a blocking request, 642 unlawful gambling and affiliate websites have been blocked.
Since 2017, when the ACMA began enforcing new regulations against illicit offshore gambling, over 180 illegal services have left the Australian market.
The ACMA cautioned consumers: “Even if a service seems legitimate, it is improbable to have substantial consumer protections; this implies Australians using unlawful gambling services may lose funds.”
Earlier this month, the ACMA stated it would concentrate this year on “affiliate services that promote and direct traffic to illegal online casinos.”
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has taken a firm stance against websites that promote unlawful betting in Australia. They’re concentrating on affiliate services that guide individuals to offshore gambling platforms, frequently posing as impartial evaluators.
The ACMA examined 20 of these affiliate services between July and September, aiming to halt the proliferation of illicit gambling in Australia. They discovered that numerous of these services were violating the law by advertising illegal gambling and facilitating access to it.
