South Dakota is gearing up to permit individuals to submit applications for sports wagering licenses commencing on July 1st. The state’s Gaming Commission has declared that they will commence accepting applications on that date, and they have also unveiled new regulations that complement the sports betting legislation that was enacted in March.
These new regulations stipulate that sports betting will be incorporated into the list of activities that individuals can partake in gambling. The application forms were made accessible online on May 20th, and the Commission will begin receiving them on July 1st.
There is a new charge of $5,000 imposed on businesses that desire to provide sports betting at their establishments. This fee is in addition to the existing $2,000 license fee and $2,000 annual renewal fee that were previously included in the legislation.
